Digital News Report – San Francisco Supervisor Eric Mar is working with several agencies to make the city streets safer.

The supervisor has been seen digging in the street islands. The goal is to make the roads safer for “all” users, not just cars and their drivers. Mar calls the effort a “Better Streets Plan”.

Besides safety, the city has been working on aesthetics. The supervisor says he has worked to get the community involved I planting trees along Geary Boulevard and repairing Lincoln Park steps.

Designers have been working on bike lanes. The process may be slow but Mar is working on methods to streamline it.
