Digital News Report- Two people have been arrested after a high-speed chase that started in Santa Cruz came to an end in Scotts Valley on Monday.  The chase began at the Valero gas station on Soquel in Santa Cruz at 11:10am when a couple in a stolen white Chevrolet Nova attempted to steal a car battery.  A GPS was reportedly stolen earlier that morning at the Valero on Ocean Street.  The car the suspects were driving was also reported stolen.

After a police officer responded to the incident, the suspects rammed into a police car and shot at the officer.  The pursuit then traveled down Ocean Street and Highway 17 before ending at the Nob Hill grocery store at Mt. Hermon Road.  Police took that man and woman into custody.

According to Police spokesman Zach Friend, the Nova is registered to a man in Klamath Falls, Oregon and one of the suspects had an Oregon driver’s license.
