Santa Cruz Police arrest 50-year-old man with charges of robbery and kidnapping

Digital News Report – Santa Cruz Police have arrested 50-year-old resident, Todd Hazelquist, after receiving two tips from store security video footage that was released to the local media.

There was a robbery and kidnapping attempted on April 30, 2011. The suspect demanded the cash register to be opened but the employee refused. Then the robbery suspect attempted to force the employee into a dressing room. The employee screamed and resisted, eventually causing the robber to flee the store.

Hazelquist was arrested without incidence shortly after midnight on May 2nd at the Motel Santa Cruz located at 370 Ocean Street, where he was living. He was then booked into Santa Cruz County Jail for the charges of robbery and kidnapping.
