Digital News Report – The YouTube Symphony 2011 is airing their performance streaming live on March 20, 2011. This year the selected musicians gathered in Sydney Australia to perform at the Sydney Opera House. The YouTube Symphony was also sponsored by Hyundai.
The way the musicians got to go to Australia to perform for the YouTube Symphony was by uploading audition videos on YouTube of them playing specific pieces of music. Finalists from 33 different countries were selected and then were gathered together in Australia to be directed by Michael Tilson Thomas for the big performance.
