Digital News Report – The county of Santa Cruz is taking steps to comply with the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.

At their last meeting the board of supervisors approved a resolution to adopt a plan. For the last year the County Office of Emergency Services has been working with FEMA and other agencies to prepare for natural disasters and other catastrophes.

The county will be committing resources to the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) for the County of Santa Cruz.

The plan is available from the county clerk.
