Google Warns China after Hit By Cyber Attacks : May Leave Country

By Jim Peterson on January 13, 2010

Digital News Report – The Dow Jones Industrial Average was higher today as international companies led the way. The DJIA was up 53.51 points to 10,680.77, despite Google’s warning it may leave China. The company warned China that they may pull out of the country because of cyber-attacks originating from that country.

This is good news for other search engines. Shares of Baidu, a Chinese search engine, hit $439.48, up 13 percent after the announcement.

Analysts expect Google to report stronger than expected quarterly results after the market closes on Thursday, January 21, 2010.
