Samsung announce plans for Google TV Blu-ray player and set top box

Digital News Report – Google TV will be coming soon to a Samsung Blu-ray player and a companion box in the first half of 2011. Google TV makes it easy to browse the Internet on TV and it uses the Android based operating systems created by the search engine company.

The Samsung Blu-ray player and companion box will incorporate a Google TV remote control that will have a full QWERTY keypad plus there also will be voice search capabilities. There will be an internal microphone to pick up the voice commands.

Samsung announced their Google TV Blu-ray and set top box at the Consumer Electronics Show which went on between January 6 – 9, 2011.

Currently you can get Google TV in some SONY Internet TV, SONY Internet TV Blu-ray players, and the Logitech Revue set top box.
