Oasis Documentary Captures Emotional Reunion and Tour Journey

The Oasis reunion tour of 2025 brought together fans from around the world for an unforgettable experience. A new documentary titled ‘Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger’ captures that journey and the emotional highs and lows of the band’s comeback. It follows the group through their long-awaited return to the stage, beginning with a performance in Cardiff.

The film explores how the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher worked through their past conflicts to come together again, according to NME. Early in the documentary, Liam describes how he felt when he thought his brother had betrayed him. Noel shares that he was born with a flaw that made him struggle with relationships.

The film shows how the two brothers slowly rebuilt their relationship over time. At first, they barely made eye contact during rehearsals, and Liam often left before the final song was played. But by the time of their opening night in Cardiff, Liam reached out to hold his brother’s hand.

As the tour continued, they walked on stage together hand-in-hand, showing a marked change in their dynamic. The documentary also highlights how the band’s bond was strengthened by their shared love of music and fans. It includes stories from fans across different countries, showing how Oasis impacted lives in unexpected ways.

One fan story involves divers in South Korea who used the song ‘Acquiesce’ to get through their workday. The film also pays tribute to guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, who supported the band during the tour. His absence due to cancer treatment was represented by a cardboard cutout of himself at shows.

The documentary uses concert footage and interviews to tell the story of the band’s legacy. It shows how the band returned to Manchester, a place deeply connected to their history. The film captures the tension and excitement leading up to the first show in Cardiff.

Footage of fans in the stadium shows how emotional the moment was for everyone involved. Noel appeared stressed during the opening song but still found joy in singing with his brother. The directors Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern were praised for their ability to connect different parts of the tour to the band’s history.

The film ends with a powerful message about how Oasis brought people together and redefined what it meant to be a band. Liam says in the final moments that ‘Oasis saves’ – a sentiment that captures the film’s emotional core. The documentary received an eight-minute standing ovation at its festival premiere, according to a report from Yahoo News.

Some critics noted that it did not reveal much about how the band reconciled after their long split. However, it was praised for its sentimental portrayal of a once-raucous group now showing more harmony. The film includes moments of humor and heart, especially in how the brothers interacted during the tour, the Daily Mirror reported.

Liam says that music brought them back together, and Noel agrees that things are now fixed between them. Both brothers now regularly text each other, a sign of their improved relationship. The documentary is set to release in UK cinemas on September 9th.
