Disney’s ‘Oceans’ Documentary Film released on Earth Day and ‘Avatar’ to DVD.

Digital News Report – Earth Day was created to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment which started back in April 22, 1970. The Earth Day Network is a group that wants to bring Earth Day as a worldwide day to appreciate the planet. Disney got involved in the day by marketing a film special for the day, and the ‘Avatar’ film was released special for today.

The Disney release of the ‘Oceans’ documentary film travels around the world looking at the ecological problems faced with life in the oceans. ‘Oceans’ is a joint venture between, Walt Disney Studios and the French studios of Notro Films and Galatee Films. Disney Channel stars, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas have recorded a duet for the film titled, “Make A Wave.” Last year, Disney released “Earth” on last year’s Earth Day, which was reported to have made $108 million, with $4 million on opening weekend.

If you aren’t going to the movies, there is another Earth Day release going on for the film ‘Avatar’ which makes its debut on Bluray and DVD today. The film has won 3 Oscars.  They are working on sequels to the film, according to several reports.
