The latest leak of the Lenovo Googlebook 15 provides a detailed look at what could be a high-end laptop in the Chromebook space. The device is said to be powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor and comes with either 16 or 32 gigabytes of LPDDR5x RAM. Storage options include 256 or 512 gigabytes of SSD space, and the laptop is expected to have a battery that lasts up to 11 hours. A Bluetooth SIG filing lists the commercial name as the Lenovo Googlebook i (15″, 12), while the model number GB 15IPH12 has appeared in regulatory and leaked product information.
The display is a 15.3-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2,880 by 1,800 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 hertz, according to CNET. It also has a 500-nit brightness level and supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The laptop is touchscreen-enabled and includes a haptic trackpad measuring 150 by 95 millimeters, according to a report from AOL. The leaked specifications also list a 70Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and HDMI 2.0.
There is a dedicated Google “G” key on the keyboard, likely used to access AI tools like Gemini. The device supports facial authentication and includes a fingerprint sensor for security. It also has a 5-megapixel webcam with dual microphones and a physical privacy shutter.
Audio is handled by four Dolby Atmos speakers located on either side of the keyboard. The laptop is expected to run a new operating system called Googlebook OS, while the underlying platform had previously appeared in code under the internal name Aluminium OS, chromeunboxed.com reported. This OS is built on an Android foundation and will include AI features such as Magic Pointer and custom widgets for organizing tasks. Google introduced Googlebook in May as a new category of premium laptops built around Gemini Intelligence and designed to work closely with Android phones.
The device is expected to integrate with Android phones for app and file access. Gemini Intelligence will be available in select countries, languages, and for users who are 18 years or older. The laptop is expected to have a backlit keyboard and include ports such as USB-A and an audio jack. Google says its Quick Access feature will allow users to view, search and insert files from an Android phone directly from a Googlebook.
Accessories for the device may include a Lenovo AI Mouse with an RGB light strip and a Lenovo E310 True Wireless Earbuds. The Lenovo Googlebook 15 is expected to be priced similarly to premium laptops like the ThinkPad X1 Aura Edition. It is not clear yet whether all AI features will run on-device or if they’ll rely on cloud services. No official retail price has been announced. The leaked Lenovo product sheet also lists a Lenovo 540 Convertible Tote Backpack as an accessory.
The device is expected to launch in the fall, with a media preview scheduled for September 15th. The Googlebook 15 is meant to bridge the gap between Chromebooks and full productivity laptops. It aims to bring Android app functionality to a more powerful machine with AI integration. Google has officially said the first Googlebook devices will become available this fall.
The design includes a unique Glowbar on the lid that indicates battery status and charging information. This is not just another Chromebook but a device meant to compete with traditional laptops in productivity and performance. Google describes the Glowbar as a defining design feature of the new Googlebook category.
