Digital News Report – Santa Cruz made the list of one of American’s best beach towns. It wasn’t just the boardwalk or the Hampton feel, according to a report by Yahoo; it was biking trails, the long boarding and farm-fresh organic “fare”.
Also on the list of 11 towns were Coral Bay, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands and Jekyll Island, Georgia. Investigators were looking for the small-town feel and friendly locals.
The survey cited the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk as an amenity. Starting this weekend the boardwalk will be open from 11 am until 7 pm. Later in the month the rides will be open daily until 11 pm.
Friday night concerts on the beach will start June 17th. Beginning at 6:30 pm, Starship with Mickey Thomas will kick the summer concert series off. Look for Great White, Loverboy, Santana, Eddie Money and more top artists this summer.
Santa Cruz also boasts a University atmosphere. Yahoo mentioned the busy Main Beach and the Pearl Alley Bistro.
