Pottermore will have activities focused around the Harry Potter books. Users sign-up for free and can participate in the virtual games and activities. Rowlings said that there would be both the Sorting Hat, and Ollivanders, which are chronicled in the books. In Pottermore, the Sorting Hat will ask the user questions, which will put the new participant inside their Hogwarts housing based on how they answered the questions. The Wand Chooser has over 33,000 possible combinations.
Rowling will share never before revealed information about some of characters from her books. Additionally, there are plans to open an online store that will exclusively sell digital ebooks of the Harry Potter series. There also will be exclusive Harry Potter digital audio books sold there as well.
If you visit Pottermore.com today, and enter your email address, you can be kept up-to-date on the roll-out of the new website. They will email you information for the July 31 beta access and if you are one of the first million to register, you can get early access to the Pottermore website.
