Digital News Report – Tornadoes are hitting the Nashville Tennessee area (see video below). The weather is so bad that the high winds knocked out one of the National Weather Service radio transmitters.

There were at least two tornadoes and one funnel cloud. The first tornado was seen one mile west of the Nashville’s CoolSprings Mall at 3 pm.

Tree branches have been broken. There are at least 74,000 homes without power and weather service has issued a flood warning for Richland Creek.

The NWS has issued a sever thunderstorm warning for the area east of Cookeville and Crossville. Chattanooga Tennessee is within the warning as well.

News Channel 5 says residents of many Tennessee counties can expect frost overnight.
