Digital News Report – The Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMA) was on this Sunday, April 3, 2011. There was a whole lot of performing going on last night. Besides all the great entertainment there was the red carpet fashions went on before the show. The fashions varied greatly at this event. You have the full length gowns competing with mini-dresses. Here is some of the best and worst dressed at the Academy of Country Music Awards 2011.
Taylor Swift wore a beige textured gown with a small train. The dress looked like an antique and she looked pretty.
Carrie Underwood wore a purple satin gown that had sequins on the hips. I liked the color on her and the dress made her look slim.
Laura Bell Bundy was wearing a strapless silver sparkly gown that had flowers sewed all the way down the front to the spread out to the ground. She looked pretty.
Reba McEntire chose a copper or bronze colored gown which matched her hair color. She later changed to a blue sequined gown that was much prettier.
Celine Dion was wearing a black sequined dress. How did she get that slim figure back so soon after having twins? Everyone is going to be talking about her appearance tomorrow! She looks great!
Nancy O’Dell was looking elegant in a gold gown. She had a one shoulder strap and on the opposites side had an open mesh. The gold blonde hair and the dress together was a bit much though.
Julianne Hough was wearing a peach colored gown that had a floral jacquard pattern. I really liked her hair and makeup.
Martina McBride was wearing a one-shoulder white gown with a sequined belt. It reminds of a Greek inspired gown, simple but nice.
Brooklyn Decker shows us the miracles of spandex in fabric. She wore an almost mauve colored, form fitting knee length dress that hugged her every curve. The dress showed no lumps or bumps in the wrong places at all!
Nicole Kidman was having fun with her look tonight. She wore an at the knee black dress that looked like a textured fake leather with a black fur bolero around her neck. The fur was a bit mismatched. But it looked like she was having fun and was relaxed.
Jennifer Nettles wore an all black gown. I didn’t like the dress. It had mesh under the arms, was that to help keep the sweat away? The mesh would have been nicer around the neck.
Miranda Lambert wore the wrong dress. Her cleavage needed more support and the wide waste band emphasized the ill fitting dress. It would have been nice if she wore a flashy necklace to bring your attention away from her chest.
Rihanna does country? She got into the country spirit and had on a white fringe dress. The fringe was on her chest and were probably around 10 inches long or more. You wouldn’t want to wear this to the office, it might get caught in the paper shredder!
Sara Evans wore a silver mini dress with a black tank and a blazer. I think she was a little under-dressed for the event. She would have looked so lovely in a dress.
Hillary Scott wore a black dress that didn’t balance her body well. The sequins over emphasized the problem. She needed to create the right kind of curves, this dress didn’t work well for her.
Jenette McCurdy is the actress who plays Sam on iCarly. The outfit that she wore made her look really short and tiny. I had to find out how tall she was and on Imdb.com it said she was 5 ft. 3 in. tall. That made me think that she really did pick the wrong clothes to wear, she could have looked much taller than this. She was wearing a black lacy mini-dress with hot pink high heels. Her hair and makeup did look nice however.
