Digital News Report – While some state representatives are calling for ending laws and regulations, our local Assemblymember, Luis A. Alejo, has asked constituents to help him enact new laws.

Alejo has made a “There Ought to be a Law Contest”. The winning idea will be introduced to the state assembly. “This is an exciting opportunity for every idea to be heard,” said Assemblymember Alejo.

“Some of the best ideas come from working men and women or students who see something in their community and say ‘there ought to be a law.’ I’m excited to tap into the imaginations of the constituents of the 28th Assembly district and turn one great idea into reality.”

Yesterday was the deadline for entries. His staff couldn’t say how many entries were filed yet, but the winner will have the opportunity to tour the Capitol and eat lunch with Assemblymember Alejo.
