Apple celebrates 10 billion downloads from App Store

Digital News Report – Apple, Inc. announced that 10 billions apps were downloaded from their App Store. The 10 billionth download was completed by Gail Davis of Orpington, Kent, from the United Kingdom. Davis won a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card for being the lucky download.

In only two and a half years there have been 10 billion downloads said Philip Schiller from Apple. There are currently over 350,000 apps that are available for the Apple iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. The Apple iPad currently has over 60,000 apps available for the tablet.
