Graco Highchair Recall

Gracko High Chair

Graco Children’s Products Inc. has recalled many of their popular highchairs and strollers (see model numbers below). The company is recalling 1.2 million high chairs that were manufactured between November 2003 and December 2009 because the screws that hold the front legs can come loose.

The front legs can fall off after the screws loosen. Besides the front legs, there is another problem with the back legs. The plastic on the back legs can crack causing the chair to become unstable.

So far the company has had 464 reports of the screws falling out and / or the plastic brackets cracking causing the highchair to tip-over. Graco has received 24 reports of injury involving their highchairs alone.

The arm can also crack causing cuts and scratches.

The recall includes all Harmony High Chairs. The company has discontinued this line of high chairs but they do have a repair kit available for the older models.

The company is also recalling their Passage, Alano™ and Spree™ Strollers manufactured between October 2004 and Feb 2008. This recall involves 1.5 million strollers. The hinges on the stroller can catch fingers causing lacerations and possible amputations.

The company has a fix for the strollers. The company will provide covers for the hinges at no charge.

I would like a replacement high chair and stroller. Ones that are safe to use.
