Rare California Tornadoes Cause Damage in Montebello and Carpinteria

On Wednesday, a rare and powerful tornado struck Los Angeles County in California, causing minor injuries to one individual and damaging at least 17 buildings. Classified as an EF-1 tornado with peak wind speeds reaching 110 miles per hour (177 kilometers per hour), it first touched down in Montebello, marking the strongest twister to impact the county since 1983.
