NFL Week 8 Results: Bills Rout Ravens, Cardinals Stun Cowboys in Overtime

NFL Week 8 Weekend Scores and Results – November 1, 2026
By Digital News Editorial Team on November 1, 2026

Josh Allen breaks Buffalo’s touchdown passing record, Arizona completes a dramatic comeback, and Denver takes the AFC West lead as Week 8 delivers major upsets, injuries and historic performances.

The NFL’s Week 8 schedule produced dramatic comebacks, record-breaking performances and significant injuries on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The Buffalo Bills overwhelmed the Baltimore Ravens 36-10, the Arizona Cardinals stunned the Dallas Cowboys 33-30 in overtime, and the Denver Broncos rallied to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 28-24.

Several other results reshaped the division races. Detroit handed Minnesota its first defeat of the season, Tampa Bay won without completing a single pass, and Jacksonville delivered one of the week’s most convincing victories.

The games also featured important individual achievements, including a franchise passing record for Josh Allen and several outstanding performances by running backs.

Cardinals Rally From 14 Points Down to Stun Cowboys

Arizona completed one of the most remarkable comebacks of Week 8, defeating Dallas 33-30 in overtime at AT&T Stadium. Kicker Chad Ryland made a 42-yard field goal to secure the victory after missing an extra point that could have won the game in regulation.

The Cowboys appeared headed toward victory after building a 17-3 lead during the third quarter. Arizona quarterback Gardner Minshew then replaced Jacoby Brissett and immediately helped revive the struggling offense.

Minshew completed 17 of 23 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns. His performance helped the Cardinals overcome their deficit and eventually force overtime.

Running back Tyler Allgeier delivered another major contribution, rushing for 147 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries. His 63-yard touchdown run helped Arizona begin its comeback.

Allgeier also caught a five-yard touchdown pass during the fourth quarter. His versatility helped Arizona generate enough offense to challenge a Dallas team that had controlled much of the game.

The Cardinals completed their comeback when Minshew connected with Michael Wilson for a 13-yard touchdown with six seconds remaining. Ryland missed the extra point, leaving the score tied at 30-30.

Dallas received the ball first in overtime but failed to score. Arizona linebacker Josh Sweat sacked quarterback Dak Prescott during the possession, helping the Cardinals regain control.

Ryland then converted the winning field goal, improving Arizona’s record to 3-5. Dallas also fell to 3-5 after allowing the comeback.

Josh Allen Breaks Bills Record in Victory Over Ravens

Buffalo improved to 6-1 with a commanding 36-10 victory over Baltimore at Highmark Stadium. Quarterback Josh Allen threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns while adding another score on the ground.

Allen also reached a significant milestone, throwing his 259th career touchdown pass, including postseason games, to surpass Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly’s Buffalo franchise record.

The record-breaking play came on an 11-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver DJ Moore during the fourth quarter. Allen later connected with tight end Dalton Kincaid for another touchdown as Buffalo extended its lead.

The Bills controlled much of the game with an effective passing attack and aggressive defense. Running back James Cook added 80 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Baltimore suffered a more significant setback than the final score alone suggested. Starting quarterback Lamar Jackson injured his right thumb on the Ravens’ opening offensive play.

Backup Tyler Huntley entered but later left with a toe injury. That forced Baltimore to turn to undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano, who finished with 91 passing yards, one interception and a lost fumble.

Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Jackson would require surgery and be placed on injured reserve. The injury raised concerns about Baltimore’s quarterback situation heading into the second half of the season.

The Ravens fell to 4-4, while Buffalo strengthened its position in the AFC East.

Broncos Beat Chiefs With Dramatic Goal-Line Stand

Denver claimed first place in the AFC West with a 28-24 comeback victory over Kansas City. The Broncos erased an 11-point second-half deficit before stopping Patrick Mahomes near the goal line on the game’s final play.

Kansas City led 24-13 during the third quarter, putting Denver under considerable pressure. Quarterback Bo Nix responded by leading two fourth-quarter touchdown drives.

Nix threw a short touchdown pass to Nate Adkins and connected with Jaylen Waddle for a two-point conversion. Those plays reduced Kansas City’s advantage to three points.

Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker later missed a 54-yard field goal attempt, giving Denver another opportunity. Nix completed a 51-yard pass to rookie running back Jonah Coleman, who scored on a five-yard run moments later.

The touchdown gave Denver a 28-24 lead with less than two minutes remaining.

Mahomes then led Kansas City toward the goal line, setting up a final opportunity to regain the lead. The Chiefs reached Denver’s one-yard line but failed to score.

On fourth down, defensive tackle Malcolm Roach sacked Mahomes, ending Kansas City’s comeback attempt.

Denver improved to 6-2 and moved into first place in the AFC West. Kansas City dropped to 5-2 after suffering its second consecutive defeat.

Lions End Vikings’ Unbeaten Start

Detroit defeated Minnesota 19-15 at Ford Field, handing the Vikings their first loss of the season. Quarterback Jared Goff threw the deciding seven-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams with 4:35 remaining.

Running back Jahmyr Gibbs played a major role in the victory, rushing for 153 yards. Detroit finished with 230 yards on the ground, allowing the Lions to control possession and sustain drives.

Minnesota entered the contest with a 6-0 record and one of the NFL’s strongest defensive performances through the opening weeks.

The Vikings briefly regained the lead during the fourth quarter, but Detroit answered with its decisive touchdown drive. Minnesota could not produce another score before time expired.

The victory came with a serious injury concern for Detroit. Linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a neck injury while tackling Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson.

Medical personnel stabilized Campbell and transported him from the field on a backboard. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation, with the Lions later confirming that he would remain under medical supervision overnight.

Buccaneers Win Without Completing a Pass

Tampa Bay recorded one of the most unusual victories in modern NFL history, defeating Atlanta 16-0 despite failing to complete a single pass.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield attempted only three passes, completing none. The Buccaneers instead relied on a dominant running game that produced a franchise-record 324 rushing yards.

Bucky Irving led Tampa Bay with 170 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. Kenneth Gainwell added 140 rushing yards, giving the Buccaneers two highly productive runners in difficult weather conditions.

The result made Tampa Bay the first NFL team since 1974 to win without completing a pass. The achievement was especially unusual because the Buccaneers also recorded negative net passing yardage after accounting for a sack.

Atlanta quarterback Michael Penix Jr. struggled against Tampa Bay’s defense, completing eight of 24 passes for 125 yards and four interceptions.

The victory improved Tampa Bay to 3-5 and gave the team its second consecutive win against an NFC South opponent.

Rams Defeat Winless Chargers at SoFi Stadium

The Los Angeles Rams earned their second consecutive victory by defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 24-9 at SoFi Stadium.

Running backs Blake Corum and Kyren Williams provided much of the Rams’ offensive production. Corum rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown, while Williams added 56 yards and another score.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 17 of 25 passes for 157 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Wide receiver Puka Nacua caught an 18-yard touchdown pass during the third quarter, extending the Rams’ advantage after a defensive takeaway.

The Rams’ defense intercepted Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert twice. Those turnovers created scoring opportunities that helped turn a close first half into a comfortable victory.

The Rams improved to 4-4, while the Chargers remained winless at 0-7.

Other Week 8 Results and Standout Performances

Several additional games produced important results across the league. Jacksonville defeated Indianapolis 42-7, with quarterback Trevor Lawrence throwing three touchdown passes.

Rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. He also caught a touchdown pass, helping Jacksonville strengthen its position in the AFC South.

Cincinnati defeated Tennessee 43-36 in overtime after quarterback Joe Burrow threw for 462 yards and five touchdowns. Tennessee running back Tony Pollard rushed for 117 yards and two scores despite the loss.

Las Vegas defeated the New York Jets 38-33, while Pittsburgh beat Cleveland 27-6. The New England Patriots also rallied to defeat the Miami Dolphins 24-19.

Among the week’s leading runners, Pittsburgh’s Jaylen Warren gained 143 yards, while Jets running back Braelon Allen produced 147 yards and a touchdown.

These performances showed the influence effective rushing attacks can have even when teams face difficulties in other areas.

Week 8 Results Leave Division Races Taking Shape

Sunday’s games produced several significant changes in the standings. Denver moved into the AFC West lead, Buffalo strengthened its position in the AFC East, and Minnesota lost its unbeaten record.

Arizona’s overtime victory also created further questions for Dallas, which struggled to protect a late lead despite holding a substantial advantage earlier in the game.

Baltimore faces an immediate concern over Jackson’s injury, while Tampa Bay has demonstrated that its running game can carry the offense when passing conditions are unfavorable.

The Week 8 schedule was not completely finished Sunday evening. Philadelphia was scheduled to face Washington in the Sunday night game, while Chicago and Seattle were set to meet Monday.

Those remaining matchups will complete the week’s results before the league moves into Week 9, with division races and several teams’ injury situations becoming increasingly important.
