The Doctor Who and Kidulthood actor denied all six charges involving five women and is due back in court on November 18.

Actor and filmmaker Noel Clarke pleaded not guilty Wednesday to six sexual offense charges involving five women during an appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London.

Clarke, 50, faces two counts of sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism and one count of exposure. The alleged offenses took place between 2007 and 2016 in London and Dorset, according to court reporting and statements from British authorities.

During the October 21 hearing, Clarke confirmed his name, address and date of birth before entering not guilty pleas to all six charges. He was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear next at Southwark Crown Court on November 18.

The Crown Prosecution Service announced the charges on September 9 after reviewing evidence submitted by Metropolitan Police detectives. Prosecutors said the allegations involve five women and stem from an investigation that began in September 2025.

Bethan David, deputy chief crown prosecutor for CPS London, said when the charges were announced that prosecutors had determined there was sufficient evidence to bring the case to court and that prosecution was in the public interest.

The Metropolitan Police said a man then in his 40s was first arrested in connection with the investigation on September 25, 2025. Detectives later submitted a file of evidence to prosecutors, who authorized the charges.

Police have said the women connected to the charges are receiving support from specially trained officers. Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney, whose team is leading the investigation, also urged anyone with information about sexual assault to contact police.

Because criminal proceedings are active, the CPS has warned that reporting and online commentary should not prejudice Clarke’s right to a fair trial. The charges are allegations, and Clarke has denied them in court.

Clarke is best known to many television viewers for playing Mickey Smith in the BBC science-fiction series Doctor Who. He appeared in the program between 2005 and 2010 during the early years of the revived series.

His film career also includes Kidulthood, the 2006 British drama that he wrote and starred in. Clarke later wrote, directed and starred in its sequel, Adulthood, and continued the story with Brotherhood. His work has also included acting, writing, directing and producing across British film and television.

Clarke has also appeared in other major productions, including Star Trek Into Darkness. His work behind the camera helped establish him as a prominent figure in British film as well as television.

The current criminal case concerns the six charges authorized by prosecutors in September. The alleged conduct spans nearly a decade, but the criminal investigation that led to the charges began in 2025.

Authorities have emphasized that the case is now before the courts. Under British law, Clarke is entitled to a fair trial and the charges must be proven through the criminal justice process.

His next scheduled appearance is at Southwark Crown Court on November 18. That hearing will move the proceedings beyond the initial magistrates’ court stage.

No trial date was announced during Wednesday’s appearance. Clarke remains on conditional bail while the case proceeds.
