The former couple’s final messages reportedly focused on their daughter as new details emerge about Urker’s final days and Blanchard’s campaign against cyberbullying.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her ex-fiancé Ken Urker shared final text messages that appear to contrast with an emotional phone call he reportedly made to his sister shortly before his death. According to a source speaking to Page Six on October 5 their last conversations were quite ordinary and centered around their one-year-old daughter Aurora. The exchange was described as friendly but not romantic; the source said Blanchard spoke in a co-parenting tone rather than a personal one.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s final text messages with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker reportedly focused on their daughter Aurora and were friendly but not romantic. Urker was found dead at his home on October 1, his 34th birthday, and authorities have not yet announced an official cause of death. Blanchard has said she believes he overdosed but does not know whether it was intentional. After his death she shared screenshots showing years of online harassment aimed at Urker and launched a petition calling for stronger protections against cyberbullying. She has described Urker as a devoted father and someone she deeply loved while saying she hopes his death leads to meaningful changes in how repeated online abuse is handled.

These texts were not flirtatious despite the two having broken up just a month earlier and been living separately. A second insider had previously told Page Six that Blanchard had stopped showing romantic interest in Urker out of respect for his mental health after their breakup. Blanchard first met Urker in 2017 while she was in prison for the murder of her mother Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.

They had an on-and-off relationship; got engaged in 2018; and broke up in 2019 before Blanchard married Ryan Scott Anderson in 2022. Two years later she divorced Anderson and reconnected with Urker; with whom she had a child together.

Urker was found dead in his home on October 1 which was also his 34th birthday. His sister Autumn told the Daily Mail that Urker had said Blanchard accused him of trying to control her like her mother had.

She added that he was a good father; brother; son; and friend though this statement contrasts with the casual tone of their final texts. It is unclear how these sentiments align with the messages that were exchanged just before his death. Blanchard told People shortly after Urker’s death that she believed he had overdosed but did not know whether the overdose was intentional.

She expressed disbelief and emotional confusion by saying she could not think clearly about what happened. Blanchard also spoke of the public scrutiny and cyberbullying Urker endured across social media platforms like TikTok and Reddit. She said he was a good father and man who was deeply loved; calling him her soulmate and describing their connection as unbreakable even by death.

Authorities have not announced an official cause of death and the investigation remains ongoing while toxicology results are pending.

In the days following his death Blanchard shared a log on Instagram documenting years of online abuse that Urker faced according to a report from TMZ. The log included screenshots from Reddit and TikTok as well as YouTube and other platforms showing insults about his appearance; sexuality; character; parenting; and relationship with Blanchard. Some of the comments were attributed to Ryan Anderson; her former husband; who reportedly called Urker a homewrecker and joked he was better looking and still had his hair.

Blanchard said that the screenshots only showed a small part of the harassment he received online. She noted that many more posts could have accumulated over time and that the cruelty was something no person should have to go through. The log also included posts made after his death showing that the abuse did not stop even after he was gone.

Blanchard said her goal now is turning that anger into meaningful change and ensuring what happened to Urker is not dismissed as just online noise.

She also launched an online petition pushing for stronger protections against cyberbullying in the wake of his death. The petition supports “Kenan’s Law” and calls for stronger procedures for handling repeated online harassment reports.
