Robert Pattinson made his red carpet appearance at the 2026 Venice Film Festival for the premiere of his latest movie, Primetime. The actor was accompanied by his fiancée Suki Waterhouse to the event held at Sala Grande in Venice, Italy on Saturday afternoon. Pattinson wore a white, pin-striped suit from Dior for the occasion while Waterhouse chose a gold lace gown by Saint Laurent.
The film’s cast and crew also attended the premiere, including Merritt Weaver, Skyler Gisondo, Phoebe Bridgers (in McQueen), Bokeem Woodbine, and director Lance Oppenheim, according to justjared.com. Earlier in the day, the cast participated in a press conference where they discussed their new movie. The film is inspired by real events and features Pattinson portraying Chris Hansen.
In a recent interview, the real Chris Hansen shared his thoughts on the film after saying he had not been involved in its creation. Pattinson responded to criticism during a press conference held for the A24 film, according to a report from AOL. He said he had not originally intended to make a movie about Hansen but expressed hope that the real-life figure would enjoy the film. Pattinson added that Hansen’s work continues to be talked about after two decades, not just because of the subject matter.
He described the film as capturing the filmmakers’ shared excitement for Hansen’s mystery. Hansen said that Pattinson was not his first choice to play him in the movie. Instead, Hansen said he had discussed with Denis Leary portraying him.
Hansen has not ruled out legal action over the film and plans to see it in theaters when it opens on September 25. Primetime is set for release in theaters on September 25.
The movie’s trailer can be viewed online.
