AST SpaceMobile Director Adriana Cisneros Buys $619,235 Shares

Adriana Cisneros
By Digital News Editorial Team on September 7, 2026

Adriana Cisneros, a director of AST SpaceMobile, Inc., bought 10,822 shares of the company’s Class A Common Stock on August 31, 2026. The shares were acquired at a weighted average price of approximately $57.22 per share, according to an SEC Form 4 filing. The purchases were made through three indirect holdings: an entity linked to her 2014 trust, her spouse Nicholas Griffin, and an adult child. The final Form 4 entry reported 797,023 shares beneficially owned following the transactions.

AST SpaceMobile operates a satellite-based cellular broadband network that delivers internet directly to standard mobile phones, according to Yahoo Finance. The company targets areas without traditional mobile coverage, including maritime and remote terrestrial locations. It has agreements with more than 60 telecommunications operators, reaching about 3 billion subscribers globally, according to a report from blockonomi.com. The company’s business model avoids direct marketing to consumers by partnering with telecom providers.

Berenberg Bank recently initiated coverage of AST SpaceMobile with a Buy recommendation and set a $92 price target. That price objective suggests about 65% potential gain from the stock’s previous closing price. Shares of ASTS rose over 9% during early trading on September 2, 2026, following the announcement. Berenberg highlighted AST SpaceMobile’s ability to deliver cellular broadband directly to smartphones as a key competitive advantage. This unique technology eliminates the need for specialized equipment and creates a significant moat in the market. The bank also noted that the global space industry is expected to grow from $500 billion in 2025 to $1 trillion by 2030. This growth is driven by lower launch costs and increased commercial adoption of space technologies. Berenberg’s coverage was part of a broader effort to expand its analysis into the space sector.

The company’s vertically integrated business structure and satellite network design were also seen as strong assets. AST SpaceMobile expects to begin commercial operations in 2027, providing a concrete milestone for market observers. The company’s stock had been underperforming earlier in the year, but the rally was primarily due to company-specific news. Prior to the Berenberg announcement, some traders had already increased bullish options activity in the stock.

Despite these positive signals, AST SpaceMobile continues to operate at a loss and consumes significant cash for its satellite projects. The company’s path to profitability remains uncertain due to risks in deployment schedules and regulatory approvals. If expenses exceed projections, AST SpaceMobile may need additional funding rounds, which could dilute current shareholders. The company’s market capitalization stood at around $23 billion with roughly 389 million shares outstanding across its three classes of common stock before the Berenberg coverage. Shares were trading at about $55.70 before the announcement, which helped drive the early September increase.

In a separate financial move, AST SpaceMobile completed a private offering of $1.0 billion in principal amount of convertible senior notes, morningstar.com reported. The company sold $1.0 billion in principal value of Notes due 2034 at a 1.625% interest rate. The notes have an initial conversion price of approximately $79.57 per share, a 20% premium to the stock’s $66.31 closing price on July 15. The company intends to use proceeds from the offering for its satellite expansion and to secure access to orbit. It also entered into capped call transactions with financial institutions as part of the offering. The company said it had not entered into any understandings or agreements for the strategic transactions contemplated with the offering proceeds. AST SpaceMobile’s convertible notes are senior, unsecured obligations with no sinking fund or early redemption option. Noteholders can require the company to repurchase their notes in case of a fundamental change.

The company’s stock price has seen some volatility, with recent activity showing investor interest in its potential for growth. Investors are watching closely to see how the company progresses toward commercial operations and revenue generation.
