YouTube star Ms. Rachel and her husband Aron Accurso have announced the release of their first album titled ‘I’m So Happy’. The album will be available on Sept. 25.
Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, started her popular YouTube channel with Aron in 2019, according to kfor.com. She described how music has always been important to her family and said singing to her children from the start was meaningful.
The new album includes 23 tracks that feature both original songs and reimagined versions of classics. A song like ‘I Could Be Your Friend’ helps children learn social skills. Ms. Rachel said they consider all kinds of kids when making their music, including those who are autistic.
The album mixes different musical styles, such as a bossa nova version of ‘I Love a Rainbow’ and a bluegrass take on ‘Old McDonald’. Aron Accurso said music is central to their show and that the album was a way to expand on songs fans know from the show. He explained how they took familiar tunes and added new arrangements to make them more engaging.
The project involved a large team of vocalists and instrumentalists. Aron Accurso said the goal was to create music that brings families together for fun living room dance parties at home.
The album is co-produced by Aron Accurso and Scott Riesett. It was also arranged principally by Mr. Aron.
The tracklist includes songs like ‘Icky Sticky Bubble Gum’, ‘Phonics’, and ‘Hop Little Bunnies’. Other songs on the album are ‘The Wheels on the Bus’, ‘Pop Those Bubbles’, and ‘I Love You to the Moon’.
Ms. Rachel has also been involved in advocacy work related to children’s rights. She recently commented on the death of an 18-year-old named Nolan Wells in Mississippi. She wrote that justice would have been different if the situation had involved people of a different race.
Ms. Rachel said she sees her music and activism as connected. She described herself as someone who wants to support families and make sure children are safe and happy.
