The inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival took place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Great Park in Irvine, California. The event featured a lineup of artists including Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Sara McLachlan, and Stevie Nicks. Rodrigo’s performance was the highlight of the day, with special appearances from Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, and Stevie Nicks.
The festival sold out within 30 minutes and drew an audience that was mostly women and girls, according to Rolling Stone. Rodrigo announced at a press conference that she would donate $10 million to ten nonprofit organizations supporting women and girls. The participating nonprofits included Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, John Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center, and Planned Parenthood.
A matching gift of $10 million from Melinda French Gates doubled the donation to $20 million, according to a report from eastbaytimes.com. Gates joined Rodrigo on stage to speak about the importance of empowering women and girls. Rodrigo said she believes that giving women tools to decide their own futures is key to changing the world for the better. She praised Gates as one of the most inspiring women she had ever met and highlighted her lifelong dedication to helping women and girls. Gates emphasized that the real power lies with everyone in the audience, not just on stage.
Rodrigo’s set included hits like “Driver’s License” and duets with McLachlan, Morissette, and Nicks. She dedicated the song “Angel” to Dolly Parton, recognizing her philanthropy. After a personal emergency canceled Karen O’s set, Rodrigo took the stage and performed with Stevie Nicks on “Landslide.” Nicks expressed admiration for Rodrigo’s energy and creativity after the performance.
The festival also featured other notable acts like Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, Devon Again, and Die Spitz, Consequence reported. The event was more than just a concert; it served as a gathering for women and girls to support important causes. Fans were drawn not only by the music but also by the festival’s mission of promoting gender equality and social justice. Many attendees wore baby doll dresses and participated in activities like making flower crowns and daisy chains.
The festival was held under extreme heat, with temperatures in the high 80s. Attendees waited in long lines for brand activations like the Taco Bell Live Más Cafe, which offered a special pink Baja Blast drink. The festival’s two stages were spread across Great Park, requiring fans to move between them to catch all performances.
Not For Radio, the solo project of María Zardoya, delivered an ethereal performance that felt like a dream. Zardoya’s set was surrounded by lush greenery and flowers, enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere.
The event brought together a diverse crowd of fans who supported both music and social causes.
