Late night host Seth Meyers returned to the screen after a short break, delivering sharp commentary on recent developments involving Donald Trump. The comedian focused heavily on the president’s mounting difficulties, especially in foreign affairs. Iran-US peace talks have been suspended, military exchanges are halted, and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. These issues were all part of the backdrop Meyers used to highlight how far Trump’s popularity has fallen.

Meyers compared Trump’s current situation to a public embarrassment involving pop group Milli Vanilli. The duo had pulled out of performing at the Great American State Fair, an event that is being promoted by Trump’s own platform Freedom 250. Meyers noted that even the real Milli Vanilli, who were once famous for a lip-syncing scandal, refused to take part in what they saw as a political spectacle. He joked that this level of rejection was not even among the top ten most embarrassing things to happen to Trump recently.

The comedian also addressed how many artists and performers have declined to appear at the fair. Names like Young MC, The Commodores, and Morris Day & The Time all either withdrew or denied ever agreeing to perform. Trump responded by calling these acts “Third Rate.” He suggested that a MAGA rally would be more fitting for the event, filled with overpriced singers who nobody wants to hear.

Meyers also turned his attention to Elon Musk and right-wing figures who criticized the upcoming movie The Odyssey. The film, a big-budget adaptation of Homer’s epic poem, was seen by many as a woke project due to its diverse casting choices. Lupita Nyong’o was cast as Helen of Troy, a character with a mythological origin that Meyers described in humorous terms.

Critics on the right called the movie a “commie woke-fest.” Meyers mocked this reaction and pointed out how wrong they were in predicting failure. The film grossed over $264 million worldwide, proving that audiences are not turned off by diversity or progressive themes. He also took aim at Musk’s claim to make his own version of the movie using artificial intelligence.

Meyers questioned the credibility of right-wing commentators who claimed that the Iran conflict would be a success. Despite their predictions, the situation continues to deteriorate. A Democratic senator brought up the Pentagon chief’s false statements about Iran’s military strength. The chief avoided answering questions, but the senator kept pressing, likened to a relentless Terminator.

Trump responded to this by attacking the senator in an odd way, calling him Pinky Herman. Meyers said that Trump’s brain seems to be stuck in a world like Peewee Herman’s Playhouse, filled with strange and disconnected ideas. The comedian concluded by saying that right-wing figures live in their own bubble, completely separate from reality.

Throughout the show, Meyers used humor to reflect on how political rhetoric has shifted and how public opinion is changing. His jokes were not only entertaining but also pointed at deeper truths about leadership, media influence, and cultural trends. The audience laughed while being reminded of the contradictions and absurdities in current events.
