Digital News Report – Joining in on the early holiday sales is Walmart, who has a Super Saturday sale going on this weekend from 11 a.m. until midnight. There will be samples and giveaways along with extra discounts on electronics, toys, and more. Free cupcakes and balloons will be given out in Walmart’s Toyland section in the stores and they will have activities and giveaways special for children. The Saturday sale will be nationwide at all Walmart stores.
Walmart is also reminding consumers that they have a layaway program to help pay for their Christmas gifts and be able to get the sale price. Walmart has a Christmas Price Guarantee. If you buy anything at Walmart between November 1 through December 25, 2011, and you find the same product advertised for less at competitor’s stores, Walmart will issue a store gift card for the difference. The price guarantee has to be completed by December 25. Also the item has to be identical, including the same model number, size, color, quantity, and grade. The competitor’s store has to be in the same local shopping area too.

This is only the start, there will be Black Friday sales going on at Walmart, just like in previous years. Target was also doing early holiday sales last year. Amazon.com has already started to offer early Black Friday offers. So there will be more weeks of holiday sales this year than in the past years.
