Rapture predictor Harold Camping suffers stroke

By Greg Cook on June 13, 2011

Digital News Report – The May 21, 2011 end of the world Rapture predictor, Harold Camping, 89, has suffered a mild stroke during the evening of June 9. Camping is the President and General Manager of Family Radio where the announcement was made on the company’s website regarding his stroke.

On FamilyRadio.com, they posted that Camping was making progress and has excellent care from the doctors treating him. Camping was said to have appreciated every thought or prayers during this time.

Camping recently was certain that the Rapture would occur on May 21, 2011 with the end of history, as we know it, will end five months later on October 21, 2011. Camping before the May deadline, said that there would be devastating earthquakes that would occur around the world 6 p.m. local time. When these events didn’t occur, Camping has adjusted the desolation date to happen on October 21, 2011. Camping also wrongly predicted end of days in 1994, but that time he had a question mark as he wasn’t as certain as he was about May 21, 2011.

Camping’s Family Radio broadcast company is headquartered in Oakland, California.
