Digital News Report – Toms Shoes, the Santa Monica based footwear company promoted their “One Day Without Shoes” campaign today.

Although the shoemaker is for-profit, they donate a pair of shoes to someone in need for every pair sold. “In many developing countries, children must walk barefoot for miles for school, clean water & medical help,” the company tweeted today.

The company teamed-up with Nordstrom to host barefoot walks.

Blake Mycoskie, the founder of Toms Shoes, expected millions to participate today. There is no official word and the company has not yet responded to our request for information regarding the number of participants.
