Digital News Report – Although no Kennedy family member has publicly expressed opposition to the “The Kennedys” television miniseries, there are reports that the History Channel and family members were not supportive.
The minisearies was originally slated to run on the History Channel, but later the broadcaster told the producers that it didn’t fit their programming.
Reelz Channel picked it up and will hold the world premier tonight on their station. On DirectTV, the channel is 238, on Dish Network it is 299, on Verizon it is 233 and AT&T the channel is 799.
The channel is planning a premier party one half hour before the first episode. The show starts at 8 pm ET and 5 pm PT. There will also be a “Story behind the story” after the premier. After that, the show starts all over again with a premier party.
Greg Kinnear stars as Jack (John) F Kennedy, Barry Pepper as Bobby and Katie Holmes as Jackie.
