Firefox 4 is here – What’s New in this Upgrade?

By Victoria Brown on March 23, 2011

Digital News Report – Firefox 4 has been released today and there are many people taking the plunge to get the new browser. The tabs have been moved to the top of the screen instead of being closer to the website section. They have grouping tab features. But most notably, the browser appears to go faster like Mozilla promises.

You might not like the tabs on top, never worry you can click on the right mouse button at the top of Firefox and check off the ‘Tabs on Top’ option. This will return the tabs back down to the bottom section.

There are new sync features that will let you set up similar tab groups and such on your computer, mobile, and so forth so you will have the same familiar website links ready to go wherever you are browsing.

They moved the reload button to the end of the URL address as well as the home button location. But with customization you can rearrange it the way you like it.

There is also a new password manager that will pop up when you login to a website that will remember your passwords for you.

You can get the browser update by visiting firefox.com and downloading the 4.0 version and then running the installation file.
