Senator Tony Strickland and Assemblyman Don Wagner form New Caucus

By Jim Peterson on March 15, 2011

Digital News Report – Governor Brown has a uphill battle to convince voters to extend current tax increases, according to tax-advocate groups. Assemblyman Don Wagner and Senator Tony Strickland have launched a new Taxpayer Caucus.

The goal is to balance the budget “without gimmicks”. The group also opposes any tax increase, including any put on the ballot.

“Thirty Legislators have come together to form the new caucus,” Strickland tells the Digital News Report. “It is one of the first caucuses in California history to be formed solely on the issue of taxation”.
