NASA wants to Launch your Face in Space

By Victoria Brown on June 9, 2010

Digital News Report – It’s more of something fun, but NASA is giving you a chance to put your Face in Space and if you are camera shy you can launch your name in space. NASA is offering this unique opportunity to celebrate the last two remaining space shuttle missions and they want you to become part of history by uploading your photo or your name to be launched into orbit.

What you do to get on the roster, is to visit http://faceinspace.nasa.gov/ and click on the participate button. Then you follow the prompts and upload your photo. You don’t have to upload your photo, they will take your name up into space as well. Then they will give you a confirmation page with which flight you will be launched on.

When the shuttle lands you visit the website again to be able to print a Flight Certificate that acknowledges your trip into space. It really is a great way to get kids, or kids at heart, to become involved in science. Next thing you know, they will want to learn more about how the NASA mission as it unfolds as they feel apart of it.
