Tax Credit Bill Creates Jobs

By Press Release on April 25, 2010

Digital News Report – As your representative in Sacramento, I am focusing on legislation that will help stimulate our economy and get people back to work. Those efforts took a big step forward last month.

On March 25, the Governor signed a bill I co-authored (AB 183) that extends my highly successful Homebuyer Tax Credit program launched in 2009.

AB 183 provides a tax credit of up to $10,000 to Californians who are buying their first home or purchasing a brand new home. This credit will encourage home purchases, jumpstart building projects, and benefit local economies – which translates into more jobs.

Make no mistake times are tough out there. This program will help get people working again and allow them to share in the California dream.

The 2010 Tax Credit for New Home and First-Time Buyers is available to qualified buyers on a first-come, first-served basis from May 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010. For more information, visit the Franchise Tax Board website at www.ftb.ca.gov.
