Digital News Report – Today mortgage rates are on the rise again. We compare mortgage interest rates by averaging three major surveys.
We use various indexes to determine the trend and see an upward tendency. Bankrate had an average 30-year fixed rate of 5.26 percent. Their 15-year fixed program was 4.58 percent. Both of these rates were higher than last week at this time.
According to Interest.com, the 30-year fixed rate mortgage was 5.26 percent (APR). Their 15-year fixed rate mortgage was 4.58 percent. Both of these rates were higher than last week. They also compare jumbo rate mortgage (non-conforming). These rates are typically higher than conforming rates.
The 30-year fixed Jumbo rate was 5.96 percent and the 15-year fixed jumbo was pegged at 5.51 percent. These rates were also higher than last week.
Finally, eRate also showed an increase. Their 30-year fixed rate mortgage was found to be 5.05 percent (on average). Their 15-year rate was 4.46 percent.
