Digital News Report – While health care reform is getting a restart with President Obama’s Health Care Summit, some things may not make it into the final piece of legislation.

Iowa Democratic Senator Tom Harkin believes one of those proposals is the public option. “I hate to say it, but I am not certain we’re going to be able to get a public option in this bill,” Harkin said to Salon the night before the summit. The Senator said that they will likely try again in the future.

The public option provides the only true mechanism that will prevent the insurance industry from raising rates to the point to which no American will be able to afford health care. No Real reform can be accomplished without the Public Option!!
