Digital News Report – Despite the bad economic conditions, some companies like McDonalds and Wal-Mart are doing quite well. Especially in hard times Americans want a good deal.
Truly a global company, McDonalds reported a fourth quarter increase in profit of 23 percent. The company benefited from a weak dollar and higher demand in the U.S. and France to Russia and Australia. Revenue was up 2 percent as well.
Foreign currency translations helped boost fourth-quarter earnings 7 cents per share.
