Digital News Report

Digital News Report – In a move that will likely boost sales of Wii, Ninendo and Netflix have announced a gadget that will allow users to stream movies online.

Netflix already offers subscribers the ability to stream certain movies to their television sets. In fact, that has been a selling point for PlayStation and Xbox which already has this Netflix capability.

The companies say the Wii will have the ability to stream Netflix movies this spring.

But Wii users will only be able to stream regular definition movies while PlayStation 3 and Xbox both offer the service with high-definition content. Well, you can’t win them all, but one thing all three consoles have in common is that the streaming is free with a Netflix subscription.
