California Chamber Releases Annual “Job Killer” Bill List

By Press Release on May 17, 2010

Digital News Report – SACRAMENTO – Senate Republican Leader Dennis Hollingsworth (R-Murrieta) issued the following statement in response to the release of the 2010 “Job Killer” Bill List by the California Chamber of Commerce:

“Millions of Californians are looking for work, and many families are struggling to make ends meet. In these tough economic times, people rightfully expect their government to help create more jobs.

“Despite record-level unemployment, the Democrat majority has insisted on introducing and passing bills to make it more difficult for small business to operate, much less expand in California. Last year’s tax increases didn’t solve anything – they only made matters worse.

“The Democrats talk about the need to help families, but the only real assistance that will permanently help our economy recover and help our citizens to get back to work is to pass legislation to make it easier for small businesses to create the jobs that will pay people a wage to put food on tables and pay the bills.”
