Pop star Olivia Rodrigo announced her new one-day music festival in Irvine, California, drawing attention from fans and residents alike. The event, named Daisy Chain Fields, is set to take place at the Great Park on August 29, 2026, and will feature an all-female lineup of artists. Artists such as Chappell Roan, Doechii, Katseye, and Stevie Knicks are scheduled to perform at the festival.

The festival’s website shows a map that includes the Great Park’s balloon and carousel, which will not be available for public use during the event, according to highschool.latimes.com. Tickets went on presale at 10 AM on June 24th and sold out within an hour, prompting fans who missed out to join a waitlist.

The event offers four ticket tiers including General Admission, GA+, VIP, and Pit Viewing, with bungalows and suites available. Children under four years old do not require a ticket but must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.

All net proceeds from the festival will go to organizations supporting women and girls, including Planned Parenthood, the National Women’s Law Center, and the National Institute for Reproductive Health. Rodrigo has long been a vocal supporter of reproductive health and bodily autonomy, a stance that aligns with the festival’s mission.

Residents of Irvine are concerned about traffic issues due to the expected attendance of around 40,000 people. Past events at the Great Park have caused significant traffic delays and parking problems for local families. Residents have reported being stuck in traffic for hours and unable to enter their homes during previous large events.

The city is under pressure to manage the festival’s impact on local infrastructure, especially with fans traveling from far distances. Parking options include a $95 pass for single parking or a $50 shuttle pass for UCI or Honda Center. Some attendees may park on residential streets, which could disrupt local traffic and access to homes.

The festival’s name reflects the idea of individual voices forming a stronger collective force, inspired by the concept of daisy chains, according to a report from The Conversation. Rodrigo drew inspiration from Lilith Fair, a music festival from the 1990s that promoted gender equity and raised money for women’s causes. Lilith Fair featured a lineup of women solo acts or bands with female frontmen and raised more than US$10 million for local women’s charities.

Daisy Chain Fields continues this tradition by supporting reproductive rights, maternal health, and gender justice through its lineup and charitable efforts. The festival’s lineup includes artists like Doja Cat, Chappell Roan, Stevie Nicks, and Karen O, among others.

Tickets sold out in 30 minutes when they went on sale in June, showing strong fan support for the event. Daisy Chain Fields also features a special “Daisy Chain Reaction” space where attendees can learn about partner nonprofits and get involved with their causes, lamag.com reported.

The festival includes women-led vendors, visual artists, and immersive installations to further promote gender diversity in the arts. Several organizations are partnering with the event to increase civic engagement, including HeadCount.

The festival aims to create a space where women and gender diverse individuals can take up space and be heard in the music industry. Rodrigo said she was grateful to everyone who supported the event, from ticket buyers to sponsors and artists who waived their fees.

The festival’s mission is to raise awareness and funds for women and girls, with a focus on reproductive health and maternal care. Beneficiaries of the event include organizations like Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, and Planned Parenthood.

The event is part of a broader movement to challenge male dominance in the music industry and promote inclusion. Daisy Chain Fields is both a celebration of music and a platform for social change, echoing the legacy of Lilith Fair.

The festival’s name symbolizes how individual voices can come together to form a powerful chain of support and advocacy.
