The long-running reality competition show RuPaul’s Drag Race has been renewed for another season. This announcement came on Saturday as the franchise continues to grow in popularity and global reach.
Alongside the main show, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars will return for Season 12, according to TheWrap. The new season of All Stars will also feature a version of Untucked, which is set to air on Paramount+.
World of Wonder, the production company behind the show, expressed gratitude for its partners and fans. The statement noted that the program has become a global movement after nearly two decades. Producers also credited everyone involved in the show including judges, crew members, and fans.
The Drag Race franchise is currently nominated for 11 Emmy Awards. These include Outstanding Reality Competition Program and RuPaul himself as Outstanding Host.
The original version of RuPaul’s Drag Race premiered in February 2009. Since then, the show has expanded into a worldwide phenomenon.
Other countries have launched their own versions of the format. These include Canada’s Drag Race All Stars, Drag Race México: Latina Royale, Drag Race France, and Drag Race Down Under vs. the World.
All of these shows have released new episodes this week alone. Fans can watch the latest episodes on Paramount+.
