Dua Lipa, Tame Impala, and Fred Again.. are reportedly being lined up as headliners for Coachella 2027. The festival is scheduled to take place over the weekends of April 9-11 and 16-18 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Tame Impala has previously appeared at Coachella multiple times, including headlining the event in 2019.
Dua Lipa has never performed a solo set at the festival before, though she did appear alongside Martin Garrix in 2017, according to iheartradio.ca. Fred Again.. is said to be in contention for the special ‘Returning to the Desert’ slot on the festival poster, according to a report from NME. AEG/Goldenvoice have had their sites set on a BTS headlining performance at Coachella for years now, and the K-pop group is among those being pursued for a top-billed position.
BTS is currently finishing up their North American leg of the ARIRANG World Tour, with their final shows in Los Angeles. The K-pop group’s stadium tour wraps up in Manila on March 14, less than a month before Coachella begins. SZA is considered the most likely candidate among several top contenders for a headlining slot.
Other names being considered include Oasis and Radiohead, both of whom have upcoming live plans. Oasis is expected to return to the road in 2027 following their ‘Live ’25’ reunion tour. Radiohead also plans to play live next year, with guitarist Ed O’Brien saying they intend to take the band on a global tour.
Miley Cyrus was approached for a possible Coachella slot but reportedly turned down the offer. Cyrus recently announced her tenth album, ‘Bass Persuades’, and will perform at two Hollywood Bowl shows in Los Angeles this October. No official lineup has been confirmed yet for Coachella 2027.
Dua Lipa’s latest album, ‘Radical Optimism’, was produced in part by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. The two artists have performed together since the release of that album, including a live version of their song ‘Houdini’ at London’s O2 in May. Tame Impala is also scheduled to tour Europe and the UK with Wet Leg in May and June 2027.
Fred Again.. joined the festival lineup last year after Frank Ocean withdrew due to injury. SZA recently appeared at Coachella in April, performing with Justin Bieber during his headline set. The festival’s organizers have not responded to the reports about upcoming headliners.
