The 81-year-old singer Rod Stewart has canceled all remaining dates of his One Last Time farewell tour in the United States due to a recent heart procedure. He underwent a routine coronary stent operation and is now taking four weeks off to recover fully before returning to live performances. Stewart’s representatives said the decision was made following advice from his doctors, who recommended rest and recovery.
The singer had been scheduled to perform in cities including Cincinnati, Ohio, and Cleveland, Ohio, among others, according to news.com.au. A postponement was announced for his show at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati after an unexpected but minor medical procedure required immediate attention. Cleveland’s Rocket Arena also confirmed the cancellation of a show due to doctors advising him to rest for at least 48 hours, according to a report from newsshopper.co.uk.
Stewart expressed gratitude to his medical team and fans during a statement shared on social media. This is not the first time he has had to adjust his tour schedule due to health concerns. Earlier this year, he canceled shows in Las Vegas and San Diego after being diagnosed with a sinus infection and later laryngitis. In May, he had apologized to fans for canceling performances in Nevada due to a sinus infection and vocal rest requirements.
Stewart also recently became a grandfather for the sixth time after his daughter Ruby gave birth to a son named Levi. Despite the cancellations, he remains committed to returning to music and live shows in the future.
Two shows are still planned for Colorado in September 2027, although those dates have not yet been confirmed. His wife Penny Lancaster shared a heartfelt message and photo of the couple on her Instagram Story to support him during recovery, malaysia.news.yahoo.com reported. She posted a selfie showing her and Stewart together on her Instagram Story, expressing pride in his journey and well-being.
The singer has been touring under the One Last Time farewell tour since 2024. Before launching the tour, Stewart clarified that he was not retiring from music or live performances entirely. He said this would be the end of large-scale world tours but that he had no desire to retire.
Fans have responded with support, expressing appreciation for his decades of music and entertainment.
