Senator Kennedy Collapses at Luncheon

Digital News Report- Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass, was taken from the presidential luncheon by medical staff he reportedly collapsed from a seizure.  According to CNN, Senator Kennedy was seizing as he was taken from the room by a wheel chair.  Theresa Heinz Kerry, wife of former Presidential candidate John Kerry reportedly helped get him in the chair.

Senator Kennedy was diagnosed with Brain Cancer last May after suffering from a seizure.  In June, the Senator underwent surgery to remove the tumor.  According to Doctor Allan Friedman who performed the surgery, said it was successful in its goals.

With the mood drastically changed in the room, the event somberly went on.  Senator Dianne Feinstein proposed a toast to the new President followed by Obama giving a brief speech. President Obama addressed the concerns about Senator Kennedy during his speech and said, “My prayers are with him.”

After the luncheon, the Presidential party proceeded to the inaugural parade.
