Digital News Report – Borders bookstore has a new paid loyalty program called “Borders Rewards Plus” which will offer discounts and free shipping from their online store. There still is a free loyalty program, but with the $20 per year enhanced “Borders Reward Plus” program you get even more discounts.
Borders is offering all its members of the loyalty program the opportunity to earn double “Border Bucks” when they purchase items on September 1st through September 6th. Usually members would earn $5 for every $150 in purchases. If you purchase $50 worth of goods from Borders they would treat this like $100 spent. If you purchased $75 it would be as if you purchased $150 worth. So a $75 purchase would earn $5 in “Border Bucks.”
Other perks for participating in the Borders reward loyalty program are free coffee, a free birthday gift, exclusive in-store and online discounts. They offer personal shopping days and off course your earn Border Bucks which you can spend at the store when you earn enough.
The Free Borders Rewards Program offers a 30 percent discount off the list price of hardcover bestsellers and they offer free shipping on online order of $25 or more.
The $20 paid Borders Rewards Plus program offers a 40 percent discount off the list price of hardcover bestsellers. Plus there is a 20 percent discount off the list price of select hardcovers. There is also a 10 percent discount off the purchase price of most everything else they sell. You also get free shipping on almost all of your online orders.
