Digital News Report – Last week on Tax Day, I was honored to speak at the Oceanside Tax Day Tea Party. These popular protests started last year on April 15th, when millions of Americans at over 800 protests countrywide gathered to express their outrage with government for its inability to control spending, failure to ensure accountability for taxpayer dollars and complete lack of auditing.
Californians all know what got our state into this mess: for years, the liberal dominated Legislature has spent every penny and then some, without ensuring improvements in our schools, our roads or our public safety. And thanks to their irresponsibility, California now finds itself $20 billion in debt.
I couldn’t agree more with the strong message being sent by the Tea Party Patriots and believe it’s the only way we can get California back on track. We must put an end to reckless government spending and truly hold government accountable to its people.
