Digital News Report – An advisor to President Barack Obama has called has called former Vice President Dick Cheney’s statements ignorant and intentionally misleading, in regard to recent criticisms made against the current administration.
Current counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, who has worked under five administrations, said Cheney is trying to pretend that Obama is not fighting the war on terrorism, according to a report by AP. Brennan said that partisan politics needs to be set aside when it comes to the war on terrorism.
“Either the vice president is willfully mischaracterizing this president’s position both in terms of the language he uses and the actions he’s taken, he’s ignorant of the facts,” said the Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Adviser for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism.
