Nokia N97 and Apple iPod Touch

Digital News Report – Nokia has sued Apple for copyright infringement on nearly every product the computer / iPhone company makes. Apple fired back with a complaint to the International Trade Commission (ITC) saying Nokia infringed on their patents.

Adding insult to injury, PC Magazine reports that Nokia has filed a request with the ITC to ban imports of all Apple devices that allegedly infringe on their patents. That would be a disaster for Apple Computer.

The report calls Apple’s strategy a “me too” strategy because they counter-sue after Nokia files the initial complaint. Apple now wants to block the imports of Nokia products, according to ARS Technica.

“Responding to a lawsuit brought against the company by Nokia, Apple® today filed a countersuit claiming that Nokia is infringing 13 Apple patents,” Apple said in a statement last month. They went on to accuse Nokia of stealing their patents.

Lawyers for both companies are fighting tooth-and-nail in this lucrative cell phone business.

One Response to “ Apple Countersues Nokia In Spy Vs Spy Scenario ”

  1. You are obviously a PC person. Nokia is suing Apple not because of patent infringement, but because Apple has been more successful in the smart-phone market than Nokia has.
