CarMax Promotion

Digital News Report – Twitter is being used more and more by companies to market their products. Some airlines have offered special promotions on the Twitter site. So it comes as no surprise that Car Max is offering an award of $25,000 towards the purchase of a used vehicle.

The care needs to be purchased from CarMax. The contest will run for 8 weeks and besides the grand prize, the company will give away gas cards valued at $250 each to eight separate randomly selected participants.

They are calling their promotion “Tweet Yourself to a New Ride”. It could have been “treat” yourself to a new ride – get it?

Joe Kunkel, senior vice president of marketing and strategy believes Twitter can be used to give away cars, and market their company too. “Giving away a late-model, fully-reconditioned CarMax vehicle is an excellent way to draw attention to both our great cars and our efforts on Twitter,” Kunkel said.

“This Twitter contest is a fun way to promote our brand and to share our story with car shoppers who haven’t previously heard about us,” the VP added.
